The Circuit

The Circuit: Stories from the Life of a Migrant Child - Francisco Jimenez

I believe that what the author wants us to learn is that living as an immigrant family is not ideal. It is a terrible experience but, in a way, living as an immigrant family really helped Francisco Jimenez. I think the author want us to realize that there is a lot of responsibility in being an immigrant family and that life is never just easy. There is many privileges that their family did not get.

The character Panchito reminds me of my grandpa. My grandpa was an immigrant child and was not able to go to school. He had to work in the fields all day and had to deal with a lot of responsibilities in taking care of his siblings and working in the hot sun all day long. He had some bad experiences like Panchito but in the long run, it helped him when he got older.

I have to say that I loved the book so much. I first realized that I liked the book in the second chapter when the story started to get deeper and there was a stronger story happening.

Divergent

— feeling big smile
Divergent - Veronica Roth

Beatrice was born and raised in the Abnegation faction, but chooses Dauntless because she feels it is who she truly is. However, her aptitude test was inconclusive, and she is "Divergent" - a fate that is mysterious but also dangerous. Once in Dauntless, she begins again under a new name - Tris. Tris is strong-willed, courageous, and reluctant to show weakness, particularly during her initiation into Dauntless. While she thrives in her new faction, she still feels strong ties to the family she left behind.

Tris’s brother. Like his younger sister, Caleb shocked his family by choosing to transfer to Erudite, though he had always appeared to be Abnegation through and through. Caleb and Tris have shared a very close sibling bond over the course of their childhood.
